Seeds of Change Chocolate
Who doesn’t want and indeed deserve, a bit of everyday indulgence? A moment of pure escapism, a small reward for good (or bad) behaviour or a sweet treat at the end of a meal? That's where our new chocolate comes in. Made from Trinitario cocoa beans grown in the Dominican Republic and available in 4 wonderful flavours, the tricky thing is deciding which one to try first.
Nut lover? Hazelnut and walnut. Something fruity? Can we suggest Orange and fig. Traditionalist? 70% cocoa, unadulterated. Milk chocaholic? Apricot and cashew in creamy milk chocolate it is then....
To leave an even sweeter taste, Seeds of Change donates 1% of revenue to sustainability initiatives, helping to protect different varieties of plant species. It’s a small gesture to make a big difference. So you can bask in the glow that each delectable bite is making a small contribution to preserving some of our most precious resources – not least the plants that grow into such delicious chocolate.
The ingredients of an obsession
Our passion for quality has led us all over the world (well, someone’s got to do it..) to find exquisite ingredients for our chocolate range.
For example, we go to Madagascar for their fragrant Bourbon vanilla pods, and to France – illogically enough – for their Persian variety of walnuts. The sweetest dried apricots come from Malatya in Turkey, so that’s where we find ours. As for our hazelnuts, we head for the shores of the Black Sea, where the cold, wet winters and balmy summers create the sweet, crisp nuts we need.
The heart of chocolate is, of course, cocoa (‘cacao’), and we are working with the Dominican Republic - a major grower of our cocoa – to help farmers protect their crops, and achieve higher prices.
We’ve also teamed up with Conservation International in Brazil, supporting projects on sustainable cacao growing, and sharing practices that protect forest bio-diversity.
All of which, we feel, leaves an even better taste.
